Another Day Poem by Bancroft Boreland

Another Day

Another day searching for reason
Another day thinking of life’s meaning
Another day to enjoy breathing
Just another day to count my sorrows

How can I be merry
When I know that life is only temporary?
Like a parasite age clings to my skin
Eroding my being, my everything
Is it better to grow old or to die young
And escape the despair of the future?
You don’t have to read the book of life
Because we all know the ending

We should wish for a better future
And cherish today
Because no one knows
If there will ever be another day…
