Another Soul Poem by James Grengs

Another Soul

Rating: 3.5

The hollow voices
Play inside my head.
Echoes of imaginary being,
Empty: devoid of life or warmth.
Only I am awake;
Only I feel.
Alone inside this world,
A box of old memories
Alone without a hope,
But only that I may find
Another soul.
The black and white images
Are now inside my mind.
Dreams of a darker reality,
Perishing with their past.
Only I breathe:
Only in my eyes
Is there any color.
Alone without a heart,
But only that aches for need of
Another soul.
My life,
My existence,
Freezes in the hopeless dark;
My life,
My existence,
Meaningless without the joy of
Another soul.
