Anywhere But Here Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Anywhere But Here

I closed my eyes and suddenly there played music
Was it musical raindrops dancing on piano keys?
The dysfunctional wind chimes seemed to sound
A little too perfect, and I just let it ring and echo.

Such pain and incision have carved themselves on me
I think it made me forget how I was once, until
You reminded me of healing, even if it took a while;
All is better, everything is everything when you’re near.

I’ll let you disappear and vanish into these ugly scars
As you softly kiss the painful routes that changed me
Bringing me back, promising better stories and tunes,
Anywhere but here, let me be everywhere where you’ll be
