Apples Poem by Karla Bell

Apples

Carry an apple around in your pocket,
but don't take a bite.
It will give you a fright
Just don't take a bite.
It's a juicy apple that shines
And smells oh so sweet,
Don't bite it or lick it
It can't make you complete
seeds are inside
Oh the seeds that are sewn
The seeds that are grown
But not these seeds
They are alone
You twist it in your pocket
Twirl it with your hand
You can feel its weight
It's plump and it's round
But don't take a bite
It will give you a fright
It's tempting I know
But don't ever go
To the place of the bitten apple
Once bitten twice shy,
Once bitten it dies
On the taut skin has been broken
It's unspoken
But it is done
It wasn't your apple
So who did it belong?
