Apr 2 2023 Poem by Ben Littlechild

Apr 2 2023

When I awake by your side
My fears face censure
For your sleeping grace, your comfort quells

Days stretch out, hours by your side skip by in a heartbeat
Never stopping to ponder or lag.
I see adventures unfurl in your face
The mundane days disguised as epic
Never tiring of those hours in the sun

In your eyes, I find my wonder
In your tears I find my sorrow
In your laugh I find rapture

To bed, you slumber, you drift away
in that face on a pillow gently resting
I know tomorrows excitement will return
and I will live again.
