Are We To Be - Poem by Jamieka Holmes

Do you know how it feels
To hunger endlessly for
The touch of a lover’s hand?
A longing plight of a lover’s delight
Oh dear I tempt
Fate’s hand!
Sweet letters of love flow
From your lips and gently
Grace my person
You beckon to me from
Far away I can only
Hear a whisper
We’ve been lost for years
But love rang true
My heart sighed pure emotion
As I sit and think about
What we’ve finally found
A life of utter devotion!
