Are You Wearing Your Green? Poem by Kathryn Tyler King

Are You Wearing Your Green?

Have you got your green on?
The parade is about to start.
The drums and flutes abound
as they pass by the food mart.

St Patrick was truly a saint.
To the Isle he brought faith.
He made the snakes to faint
and never seen again to date.

So wear your green shamrock
or you might get pinched good.
Today the Irish have the luck
to dance you a jig if they could.

To the bar you'll get green beer
and enjoy a pot of Irish stew.
Give the Lord a great big cheer
For Patrick, a man we never knew.
