Arms Of Light Poem by Windsor Guadalupe Jr

Arms Of Light

In one more somber memory,

That has turned into a vision

I will envisage you,

Not near me, time talks but does not act

The thin line of smoke escapes

With every memory, every piece I hold together

Close to my frail arms of fray.

-

I will cradle you, like I did before

In the time of raindrops, storms and snow

And now, that you have gone to white light

With a gentle, lull smile and a tranquil, soothing voice

I awoke with fields of snow on each shoulder,

And my soul, with the pieces ardently sundered

Into the Sun, the Moon weeps my loss.

-

Go on, truant enamoring,

In a moment I will remember you:

The flare of your voice,

The eclair of your skin,

The smoldering of your touch,

The toxicity of your pernicious kiss

I will take them as something that ought to be

Cancelled like nightmares, or a burnt note left untold.

-

Because in moments that I have loved you,

You slept it off, away in the distant Sun

That frowns upon my age, my face, my chagrin

Rendering me whole, fractured inside, with grief as my kin

In one more year of withering tulips I will be bereft,

But I assure you, as much as the pangs of my heart would

Speak so much of the life that you have destroyed, shattered,

I will be fine, in the supple arms of light.
