As A Consequence Of A Lack Of Education Poem by stephen west

As A Consequence Of A Lack Of Education

Rating: 5.0

I battle for everything I think right
specially against right as might,
and realise at twenty four
rebelliously I can do more
to change the establishment from within.
So I join and then begin
to change some things without a banner,
or protest march, but in the manner
THEY adopt, used against THEM to rearrange,
and rationalise what should be changed.

These days kids moan and beef and fight
and shout about they’ve got the right.
Ineffectual they will be.
They, like THEM, will never see,
That I was INSIDE, with a PhD.

The Conceiver of 'No Child Left Behind' should read this very poignant and intriguing piece. The Mind behind the institution of 'Ebonics' as a recognized language needs to ponder over these verses. As this piece makes clearly evident that they Just Don't Get It. Thank you for sharing this masterpiece. N8 (Nate) *10*

Great read Stephen! I like the attitude of changing things from within, when the beurocrats are confronted face to face with rational reasoning, they have to give way! Wonderful being a writer that way too! Smiling at you, Tai
