As Heavy As Heaven Poem by Robert Laity

As Heavy As Heaven

A small subtle shift in the cold cool wind,
Like dancing leaves progressing through invisible roads in the sky,
They land and they settle wherever they can find,
Like the intricate details within the thoughts and smiles of my mind.

If I can sit and play an instrument like the waves can play the sea,
I could sit here forever, only and only me,
If I could move like the sunlight when its hiding from the dark,
I would beat for just a moment like when I first gave you my heart.
