As I Lie Here. Poem by Josephine M.L.

As I Lie Here.

I lie in bed at night thinking to myself the conversations we might have.
Picturing your expressions forming on your face.
The way you look down with your hands in your pockets as I speak those words to you.
Full of regret and anguish.
I touch your chin with my hand lifting your face to mine.
Making us look each other in the eye.
I tell you I love you, I tell you I’ll miss you.
I tell you you’ll always be with me.
In my heart and soul, a part of me.
Just.
Not as big as you once were.
Remember the times we’ve had.
Promise me you won’t forget.
We each helped one an other to form and mold us to the people we are today.
You have always been the boy who made my heart
race, always
trying to think of
ways where we could
sneak away and steal moments of time.
I’ll always remember you.
Promise,
not to forget about me.
