As I Wait - Poem by Pearl S. Wilson

As I wait I sit down
I wait I look up
And I get filled up
I wait and I wait
For the hate to go away
I wait till the sun comes down
And the hate goes away
And when the sun comes down
The frown goes round
And the smile goes crown
Because you have come.
