As My Thoughts Drifted Away Poem by Leonie Archer

As My Thoughts Drifted Away

As quiet as a mouse,
I ran through the long wavy grass,
While Cherry Blossoms danced and dandy,
Lions glanced; the ocean hushed.

The clouds looked down while I,
Swayed with the breeze.
As the wind howled the poppy's,
Slowly dreamed of someday,
To be able to pick another,
Colour from the wheel.

As the sunset sleeps,
And the darkness slowly creeps.
The birds chirp and squawk,
The star shines and the moon yawns.

As the stars twinkle,
And the moon falls.
Light appears in the horizon,
As sunlight fills up the sky.
