As Opposed To Poem by Kevin Wang

As Opposed To

(Summary: Facing the music and facing the truth always seems the hardest to me. Sometimes I’d say to just le me die and let me cut myself like a sacrifice to the Gods with a question, ‘Would you notice that I’m even gone? ’. As you slowly get toward you goal but also blocked by obstacles along the way; ask yourself this question along the way, ‘Would you stop or continue? ’. Erasing my life written in words and run away from home just to get away from the parents seems just like a good idea.)
redden as fiery fire
darken as weary night
deep as teary blue
as opposed to that of written truth

sacrifice a little blood
no let it flow
summon a ritual
tear my bones to waste
as opposed to would you care

bars of a ladders
climbing rung by rung
feeling gusty wind
slapping you to and fro
as opposed to would you still dare

glued to a spot
writing, reading, wasting more
concentrated to killing
in what’s written in letters
as opposed to be free once again

*As opposed to that of written truth, would you care, would you dare to be free once again?
