As green turns to red
Our eyes fixed ahead
She stands on the kerb
Our thoughts to disturb
For we know she is there
But we cannot bear
To see the effect
Of what we expect
When time takes hold
And makes us old
The lines on her face
We cannot embrace
Her mind in decay
Perhaps us one day?
So we feign unseen
As red turns to green
