As Rivers Flow Poem by Debra DeVeney

As Rivers Flow

She's cried many tears in her life
Happiness to sadness
Husband's death, unbearable strife
Driven her to madness
As rivers flow toward the sea
Taking her fallen tears with thee
As rivers flow
As rivers flow
Tears of both pain and joy, set free

He was sixteen, she was fourteen
Married eighty years
As he her king, so she his queen
The envy of their peers
A love story full of pleasure
For which all others can measure
A love story
A love story
Each thought the other a treasure

They are once again together
Never to be apart
Being true love is their tether
Tie bound from heart to heart
Walk hand in hand eternally
Of this there's no uncertainty
Walk hand in hand
Walk hand in hand
Picture of perfect harmony
