As The Sun Sets Poem by James Haggenmaker

As The Sun Sets

As the sun sets behind you
I see the shadow of evil
A consequence of love
And a portrait of life

Hate is a strong word
but so is love
Neither describe what we had
But combined they say it all

A intoxicating scent pours out of you
Poisoning my heart and corrupting my mind
Lies cloud the sky above
Raining depression down on me

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I've had my fair share of heartache and depression. It plagues us all at some point in our lives. Writing poetry was one way for me to vent and relieve the stress. This poem was written years ago while I was going through a bad break up. I seem to be bad at the hole relationship thing.
