I met you as I came in through the door;
I didn't expect you would impress me even more,
Assumptions were made;
But it didn't rain on anyone's parade,
The time grew weary of routine;
Yet you were never mean,
And at times I thought I yearned for tomorrow;
For you to bring cheer into my sorrow,
A smile here, a laugh there;
How is it that you always manage such flair?
Innocence never looked so pretty;
Though at times you may seem so giddy,
But no one should demand of you;
That which you may not want to be or to do,
For it is how you are;
That makes you like a lucky star,
Bright in the sky;
Bringing someone hope as you say Hi,
Flooding away all worries;
Like the happy endings of so many stories.
