Ash Silence Poem by RIC BASTASA

Ash Silence

we were three
on an afternoon edge
against
a sunset

tangerines turning flames
soon fade into
darkness

soon of ripeness
the lone fruit falls
the ground mourns
grandeur burns
ash silence.
