Ask Me Not To Love Poem by Salome Ogo

Ask Me Not To Love

Don't ask me not to fall in love
I already did,
Teach me how not to be in love,
I'll take the lessons
Teach me, tell me I was wrong,
that love is unworthy
tell me I'm young, strong
And that there is more to life

Don't scoot, teach me the paradox
Tell me how much of a nitwit I am
Because I choose love, wasn't my aim
Teach me not to be jaded
that love will grow faded
And like to be corroded, my heart will fail
If I continue the path of love

Ask me not to love
Because love is mundane
And you are unwilling to dive
Then maybe I'll take my leave.
