It was when I took a short route
Through a deserted paddy field
I was careful in my steps
I could see in my way, a few yards ahead
A gathering
One egret, three mynas and a snake
I was bit afraid seeing the snake
When I took one or two steps more
All three mynas disappeared
The egret took its feet off
And even the 'terrific' snake withdrew
Only its tail like a black wire remained there
An inner thought flashed through my mind
What is so other in me?
To disperse the assembly when I stepped in
Though an animal,
A human is so other
