Astral Memory Poem by Nikia Tate

Astral Memory

Did you know, from the womb, I sought after you. For a short time, recalling moments together that seemed like a dream. You and I, and infinite space without restrictions like time. You would bring me stars and create black holes just for my amusement. I'd smile and another sun would be born. I'd kiss your eyes and moons would be eclipsed. We would run together forming galaxies, Skipping meteors across the vast beauty of darkness, admiring our home. Though born to this illusion which forced me to forget many things, I never forgot you. As I grew it became more difficult to hold hope that we would find our way. Some nights crying myself to sleep, and not knowing why. Have we crossed paths, have you found a more desirable celestial body on this limited plain? Have you forgotten me? Do you know, I'll continue to hold to the fragmented memories, a wait for you, because you are me.
