I loved you once, it was my duty;
I saw your sacrifices and I tried to match them
I saw your failings too though I did not want to
I tried not to fail as you have
But I have failed, even in my quest not to fail
For I ended up just like you.
Only sometimes, I think I did better
But maybe that's only in my head…

But when the earth darkened
And I needed light to see I couldn't find you
You were there somewhere
But the light you shared offered only more darkness
And the love we shared I could no longer see
I've searched everywhere for it
And I find to my sorrow, that it is no longer there
Where it was, there is now only a void.
