Let My Head Be Poem by Osazee Dankaro

Let My Head Be

Rating: 5.0

Do not preach to me and flog me all at once
Do not impact mental pain
And physical torment all together
It is cruelty to do so
Indeed it is

Take my body and flog to your heart's content
But leave me my head
So I can dream
Of another world where there is no you
Only me, and others like me.

Leave me my head
So I can be a man
Inside my head
Do not tamper with my spirit
Do not break my will
And make me think like you:
That I am always wrong

Flog to your heart's desire
But leave me my head at least.
Take my body, but leave my mind out of it
So I can dream of heaven
Even though I'm in hell.
