At The Cross Road Of Peace Poem by Adebayo Adekunle

At The Cross Road Of Peace

Nigeria! A once peaceful nation
Flowing with milk and honey
Your flag stands for peace
With your blood you fought for peace in Africa
Your name represents glad tidings
You have fed the orphans in other places
You have clothed your naked neighbours
You were once a save haven for the troubled
Suddenly! Suddenly you got to the crossroad of peace
Crossing into the land of pains, woes and agonies

How did you get to this zone of deaths
Where lies the remedy?
Where lies your hope?
Who will rewrite your history?
With the ink of indivibility
With pen of progress
In the book best nations
On the table of truly great nations
Nigeria! Love by many on the lips
But by few in their hearts
Many took from you, few gave you back
Restored will be your glory
When we change from me to us
From what shall I get to what shall I give
From what shall I gain to what shall benefit all
And from bribe to pride in service to motherland
Till I see you great
Nigeria we hail thee.
