At The Last Poem by John Bannister Tabb

At The Last

Little squirrel in the tree,
Faithless other friends to me,
Therefore to the birds and thee
Have I come.

Men have reason; ye have love
-Gift all other gifts above-
Proving what, alas, to prove
They are dumb.
