Atlantic Salmon. Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Atlantic Salmon.

Water rushes, strong and wide,
Crossing now, with naught to hide.
Long ago, a gentle stream,
Easier then, a waking dream.

But floods rise, currents fight,
A battle joined with all your might.
A salmon small, in river's hold,
Two years it spent, before so bold.

Instincts called, to ocean deep,
Where bigger challenges never sleep.
Courage grew, with built-in guide,
To seek new paths, on ocean's tide.

Return it must, to waters clear,
To spawn and start new cycle here.
From river's birth, to ocean's vast,
A journey home, built to last.
