Attack Poem by Ray Andrews

Attack

I DO NOT HATE YOU, WILL NOT REVILE YOU

You attacked me, you criticized me

I WILL NOT VERBALLY PUT YOU DOWN

You interfered in my private affairs,
You judged me negatively

I CANNOT AFFORD TO POLLUTE MY WORLD
WITH POISONOUS THOUGHTS OF YOU

You attempted to publicly cast doubt on me

I PRAY FOR YOU, CONFESSING IN PRAYER
THAT I DO THIS FOR MY OWN WELL BEING

You have rebuffed attempts at reconciliation,
And view that there is one right way-yours

I WILL NOT CONSTRUCT MY WORLD AROUND
YOUR VENOM. JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL IN THAT
AS YOU SEE OTHERS, SO SHALL YOU SEE YOURSELF
