Attracted To Misery. Poem by lasifa farod

Attracted To Misery.

Attracted to the demise, fascinated by the sorrow
blades pierce this throat, stabbing as I swallow
Addiction to compulsion, compulsion to repair
lining the laws of magnitude, reciting the cries of fear

Paint this life colourless, creating curves to this infinity
who’s to blame when it is I attracted to misery
I who lures insanity
I who engorges vanity
who’s to blame when it is I attracted to misery

Write, describe and read
but it is an empty book i heed
Page by page into the turmoil of my sentence
how has emptiness become the product of your presence

Ask no questions, yet i still tell you lies
drowning in deception as heart beats turn to sighs
as your breaths pass me by
as un-whole I die

My eyes upon your mirror, the mirror your reflection
Content with the inexistence but truth a mere infection
Shake feeling into numbness, break even at my soul
See through my layers of concrete, believe in the untold
Put forth your reality, but the reality i deny
Denial becomes a friend to me, infatuation my high

Pandora’s box without hope, ribbon its exterior
Insert into my being, yet still i remain inferior.
