August Poem by Jacqueline Czel

August

Subtle lines around his eyes
lifted as she turned around
for him in her summer dress
and he reached for her with
eager hands like he used to
when they first met so many
years ago, pulling her into
an embrace and she laughed
as he slowly slipped the thin
straps from her soft shoulders
and eased into curves barely
covered by thin blue cotton.
