Aurora Borealis Poem by John Fenton Mcleish

Aurora Borealis

testing 1-2-3
planet earth do you read me
touch down site I see
speeding through the atmosphere
reverse thrust drop landing gear
time for re-entry
soon to face reality
feel the gravity
coordinates approaching
and altitude descending
orbiting and free
reducing velocity
love trajectory
floating in my memories
geo-stationary
bow thruster failing
imminent collision
fire ignition
escape pod ejection
life line termination
like a shooting star
burning up I've gone too far
for impact prepare
aurora borealis
in this moment death is bliss
northern lights shine on
in the distance rising son
all in a second
rejoice in oblivion
this my resurrection
erase all my past
and the body I was cast
freedom comes at last
