Down the chilling rivers of wind
comes Autumn's decaying messenger
delivering its stories ending
Already I feel the touch of Winters onset
starting to soul demoralize
coldly vanquishing my heart kept memories
of Summer
that it vainly attempts to retain
Underfoot the Springs awaiting greenery
begins subterraneously surrendering to sleep
in protective anticipation
While above the dying throes of the year
are preparing to whitely dress its stage of finality
as the gatherings of starkly limbed trees
look on like dumbfounded skeletal witnesses
