Average Man - Poem by Gordon Jerome

I remember days of living fast
The carefree life of my distant past
Many moments spent in a lovers arms
Surrendering each to the others charms
For I loved each one with so little regret
And am a better man for each one I met
An incurable romantic describes me best
A poetic soul who’s thoughts will not rest
For moments we shared are forever mine
From burgers and beer to steaks and wine
From country and western to rock and roll
From jack Daniels whisky to smoking a bowl
From my cutoffs and t-shirts to a suit and tie
From a lovers hello to another ex’s goodbye
I am a simple person just an average man
Just living my life the very best I can
“closing thought”
Be for real and respect all you know
And for the one you love let your feelings flow
