Awaken Poem by Igwe Ifunanya

Awaken

Her nakedness breeds me hurt
Loosing my sense of reasoning to logic
Then goes the malevolent traitor
He came to devour

Thoughts of been naked
Fades the effulgency
If wishes were horses
Surely, my kind would ride

If emotions could go dark dark
Then I will definitely not take it back
And I will make myself bark
Not letting anything cling on my back

I will be a hen and protect my chicks
When the progator comes I will not frick
My mind is made up and I will not lack
In being more than a hen to my chick
For the die is cast
