Away Poem by Jonathan H. Scott

Away

With snow falling ‘round, breaks a cold winter's day,
As hearts beat to heartbeats and longing to stay,
While holding you close to me, warm in our bed,
We utter the word that is specially said—
That's whispered so gently, so softly, and low,
For too short a time—now, away I must go.
Off through the woodland and back through the glen;
Away from your arms ‘til I'm with you again.
