Baby - Poem by Kelly Covelens

My sweet tiny baby,
so innocent and small,
someday you'll be a man,
and claim to know it all.
That coy little smile,
those eyes so bright and blue,
so open to all life,
and the things that come to you.
Picturing the future,
I see you tall and strong,
still I will be trying,
to tell you right from wrong.
You are my greatest pal,
and I hope you'll always be,
even when we cut the strings,
and you choose your destiny.
These times I won't forget,
how you fill my heart with joy,
In my soul - forever held,
how you were my litttle boy.

for Henry and Taylor
