Baby Girl Poem by Scott Bean

Baby Girl

The first day you lay snug in my arms
There was no denying my Baby Girl's charms
Your little giggles and your beautiful smile
Made life and its dreams even more worthwhile
You went away much time did I miss
I remember the day I got Daddy's last kiss
On my shoulders you sat with words loud and clear
You expressed your joy about kissing my beard
Back in my life I still think of the day
Wow you had grown since you'd been away
A wonderful young girl before me you stood
Make up for lost time no way that I could
One thing you should know while you were away
I missed my Baby Girl each night and each day
A young lady now stands chin high I'm so proud
Your smile out shines any rain any cloud
Lost time being gained my Baby Girl here
My heart filled with joy just having you near
If only one wish I could have in this world
Just give me the Love of my Baby Girl

This poem was written for my daughter. We were apart for about 10 years and reunited. Now she lives with me. I wrote this to show her how special I think she is.

Thank you for your comment. I really enjoyed writing it. My daughter solicited me with, Daddy you haven't written a poem for me yet. as she batted her pretty blue eyes at me. So for you KK I love you.
