Babyhood Poem by Della Hodgson James

Babyhood

Rating: 5.0

Little fee that patter
So soft and light.
Little fingers that cling
To our heart strings tight.
Little rose-petal cheeks
With health aglow,
Little sparkling orbs
That marvel so.

Little silky head
That nods its way.
A crowning victory
In life's first day.

Little lips soft as dew
Made only to kiss.
Little arms that envelope
In raptured bliss.

Little bundle of treasure
For what art thou?
To bring cheer and sunshine
To the world some-how.
