Back From Where I Came Poem by David Blake

Back From Where I Came

I lie unaware, my thoughts are not my own.
Gone my joy, my life, and my pain time moving
ever slower eroding what little of me remains.

The rain, the dance, intoxication, nothing is the
same. Lifting my head in vain I search for her
night and day.

Hearing her voice I turn only to see a stranger
laughing across the narrow lane. Insane I try
without much effort to move on.

I receive no relief from my sorrow and grief, as
I wander lost. To think that I have lost so great
a love forever haunts me.
