Deep in the tropics of a warm
night, I see you standing there.
Lazy, sticky breezes blow from
somewhere out at sea, as the night
grows in its possibilities.
Never knowing what memories
might be born in such a place as
paradise I drink to my pleasure.
In the half light you seem more a
dream than reality, unearthly very
rare your beauty.
Dazed for a moment, I look away
and you are gone. My horror, then
beside me you stand.
In my arms we dance, intoxicated
swaying to the rhythm on the night.
Lost somewhere in the night of
passion and love when I awoke you
