Back In Paradise Poem by Elizabeth Dawn

Back In Paradise

The lights bright in my eyes, A smile that
had left me long ago is standing in front of me, my
heart pounds joyfully in my chest…I told
you I would wait for you…But you look like you
did the day we met…So do you my love… he takes
my hand in his and he leads me to a
beautiful pound of glistening water, as the
bright light fades away I look around we’re
in a park full of trees and fragrant flowers, I look into
the water the lines that had aged
my face for so long were gone, I lifted my
hands afraid to look away from my
beautiful young face, they were young and thin
the skin fair and smooth as they were when
I was eighteen… Are you ready my love…
Ready, ready for what…To go… Where are we
going this time dear…Where ever
you want…Hmmm lets go to paradise…Where ever you
are is paradise to me…he smiles
and we walk straight at the light it wasn’t
bright this time but warm and welcoming…
Forever right…Forever my love.
