Back Then Poem by Natasa To

Back Then

Back then, the sky was blue, as if sorrow were unknown,
And the small path still held the scent of the morning sun.
Just a single glance—yet it lingers in my heart forever;
A hand to hold—now found only in dreams.

Back then, laughter drifted far upon the breeze,
And promises lay forgotten by the quiet porch.
I thought the years ahead stretched endlessly,
Unaware that the season had already turned the page.

If one day we were to meet again,
Amidst the crowded streets and strangers passing by,
Would our hearts recognize the days of old,
Or simply smile and walk on?

Those days remain within the realm of memory,
Like a star that never fades in the night sky.
Though time brings so much change,
There are people... whom I remember with such tenderness.
