Back To The Basics Poem by Prince Kenny Osei

Back To The Basics

I just felt a spank
A spank on my shoulders
Ironically, on my conscience
As the merest hints of indignation
Have become our character

A flashback to the golden moments:
Auras of boom
When we thrived in plenty
And produced as much as we yearned for
Should we go back to the basics?
When we made all we desired

Golden moments:
In which glee was our comfort
This tap on my conscience
Resonates through a paradigm of possibility
And reverence: which ululate a fastidious response
Let's go back to the basics
Before the nights seizes to be day once again
Back to the basics
