Every time I take a shave
This is how I behave:
I take the razor where I've been
And stroke the face once again.
If I did not, I'd have a stubble
Which would give me lots of trouble.
I am not a meatpacker,
Nor am I a safecracker,
I'm what you call a backtracker.
Every time I sweep the floor,
I try to clean from wall to door.
But soon as I put the broom away,
I see more dirt on display.
So I take back my broom in hand
And sweep the dirt from the land.
I am not a Green Bay Packer,
Nor am I a safecracker,
I'm what you call a backtracker.
Every time I make the bed
At break of day, when I'm half-dead.
I put the spread into place,
Then see a lump
That's out of place.
So then I repeat the action
Until it meets my satisfaction.
I am not a Green Bay Packer,
Nor am I a safecracker.
I'm what you call a backtracker.
