Bad Dreams Poem by Mary Daly

Bad Dreams

Do you ever feel like screaming,
After you've been dreaming
Of your loved one in the room?

Do you ever wake up crying,
After all that intense denying
That he's gone, your former groom?

I will get over feeling
That I walk around just reeling
From my sad and awful loss.

I hope my grief will fade,
Not seem like such a cascade
Of emotions and I will be boss.

I will try to concentrate
On not who is late,
But on my very good friends,

People around me who care,
Alleviate my despair,
And help, and now my heart mends.
