Bad Mirror! ! ! Poem by LoraMae Hawkins

Bad Mirror! ! !

Today I peered at my reflection in the mirror;
And I must say it was a sight!
There I found kinks and wrinkles;
That seemed to get worse over night!
A sigh and a moan escaped my lips;
As I tried to smooth out my face.
I rubbed on the lotion as thick as I could;
Trying to smooth those lines away.
That didn’t help to my chagrin;
So I started looking for my Preparation H;
I mean it says on the tube it shrinks things:
I thought it would shrink the lines on my face!
To no avail, my mirror laughed at me;
So I took that bad, old mirror down!
I’ve decided to love me is to know me inside;
Cause on the outside I resemble a clown! ! !
