Bang Poem by Mark Hopwood

Bang

As the lights slowly fade
And stars beam from the darkened sky
The deepest darkest smell which once was Grey
Crumbles and falls away.

The sky falls down wards and scatters like dust
Holes appear as people shatter and rust
Black clouds form as the night gives birth
To a chemical mass to destroy mother earth.

A couple in love, gazing at the stars
Wondering how far away they really are
Holding each others hands so tight
They rust away, into the night
Blown away in the wind and the bright light.
Before the end they thought they saw
A shooting star up in the sky
Unaware of the consequence of war
And unaware they were going to die.

A baby once smiled now all is still
a rocking chair rocks and a hat rests on a windowsill
The fire burns bright in the end that man makes
And the planet licks its wounds but then shatters and breaks.
