Baptismal Anointing Poem by Dr John Celes

The Holy Spirit descends like a dove,
Upon the Son of God, Lord Jesus Christ;
When baptized by the Baptist John, the saint,
Within the shallow waters of Jordan.

Through baptism, we are children of God,
And Soldiers of Christ Jesus Messiah;
The sin of our first parents is just gone;
With heart and mind anointed, we start life.

Let’s follow Christ’s obedience unto God,
The Father who was pleased in Him always;
Let’s follow steps of Christ to Calvary,
Carrying our cross and burdens to the Lord.

Today’s worries are enough for today;
No man can increase life-span an hour more;
‘Come to me, I’ll give you peace, ’ says Christ Lord,
But peace that can be never found on earth.

The Holy Spirit goads us walk to God
In heaven’s road and enter narrow gate;
Christ Lord has won the war against satan;
Each one of us can do the same like Him.

All pray for gifts of Holy Spirit then;
All sinners reach heaven through Jesus Lord;
He is the only Life and Way and Truth;
We surrender our lives to Christ today!
