How well she does this. Takes an ordinary person from their ordinary life and bam! ! the reader is plunged into another place among other lives and it is as if you can smell this place, hear the passing words, and feel the foreign soil as both strange and familiar at the same time. Glory, but this woman could out write so many of our literary giants
