Barely Balence Poem by James Barrs

Barely Balence

Drunk again, inside poetry,
A little swimming in excess.

Ancient labyrinth. Someone
In the corner? Mirage, in
My head. I think?

Master calls, swing to desert
Breezes, blue Hawaiian night,
No trees.

Slow words,
Slower thoughts.
Horseback needs gallop to the
Music, dirges on barges.
Sailors, long away, one hour
Out of port.

Barely balance,
Edge of seat,
Just the drug keeps me up
"Never let em down, "
I'll never let you down, again.

(Radio song)
"I do believe I'm falling in love,
Falling in love, again."
